Allen Sakon

Allen has been a licensed CPA for twenty-seven years, and while tax planning is her happy place, she finds education and retirement planning incredibly rewarding. She holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of West Alabama, as well as a Master of Accountancy from the University of Alabama. Allen’s wealth of experience is both non-traditional and diverse.

She began her career in public accounting at Arthur Andersen and Andersen Consulting where she worked in audit, tax and advisory services and later in internal human resources and change management. Then, after researching entrepreneurship at New York University, she built her own business – managing all aspects of marketing, sales, manufacturing, logistics, accounting, and recruiting.

During this time, she also served as the primary home educator to three children in three different grades. In that roll, she managed curriculum selection and development, state reporting and annual testing, as well as daily discipline and instruction. With their ability to reason firmly founded and their creativity still intact, she successfully transitioned her children to a competitive private school where she serves in a volunteer capacity in both the Admissions and Advancement offices. As a founding member of the Planned Giving Council, she works with a panel of eleven other professionals together with the Head of School and Chancellor to recruit Legacy Society members, secure funds for the school endowment and provide access to wise long-term financial planning.

Allen experienced a life transition of her own two years ago that sparked a desire to serve people in financial transition.

“That has become my purpose and passion. As someone who understands the necessity of training with intention, I have found that the best way to weather storms is with careful planning and coaching toward goals that provide peace in the chaos of life changes.”

She has passed all 6 modules of the Certified Financial Planner curriculum and will sit for the comprehensive CFP exam in March.

Allen has three children, one in college and two in high school. In her spare time, she is a member of the Atlanta Track Club and a dedicated distance runner.  Allen is proud to have completed her first marathon in March of this 2020 as part of Mizuno’s Ultimate Peach Challenge.
